Banyan Bay adds new wedding venue not just by the sea, but on top of it

With 1,000 feet of beachfront and a three-tiered, picturesque pool, the Villas at Banyan Bay provide the perfect backdrop for either a romantic getaway or a family vacation in the tropics.

 This past year, the resort also finished a complete renovation of its pier that included the addition of a new wedding chapel, which can comfortably seat up to 30 guests. The renovation project, which began in 2008, took approximately six months to complete.

Located at the end of the pier, the chapel is constructed of the finest local woods, with a green adobe rooftop that blends in with the rest of Banyan Bay’s landscape. Though its main purpose is for weddings, the chapel can be used for a variety of other private events, or even as a quiet place to relax for an afternoon. Its location atop the water makes the chapel a unique facility, unlike any other found in Ambergris Caye.
